Khwopa College of Engineering (KhCE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two distinguished organizations Nepal Energy Foundation (NEF) and the National Micro and Mini Hydropower Users’ Society Nepal (NAMHUS-Nepal) on 20th July 2025.The MoU signing ceremony marked the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at fostering joint initiatives in research, training, and project-based learning in the fields of renewable energy and rural electrification.
The formal signing ceremony was graced by key representatives from all participating institutions. Er. Ramesh Bala, Coordinator, Placement Cell and Er. Rakesh Gwachha, Head of Department, Electrical Engineering from Khwopa College of Engineering and Mr. Dilli Ghimire, Managing Director, Nepal Energy Foundation and Mr. Narayan Dhoj Khadka, Chairperson, National Micro and Mini Hydropower Users’ Society Nepal were the participants. Their presence and commitment to collaboration reflect a shared vision for empowering future engineers and advancing community-level energy solutions in Nepal.
The signed agreement describes cooperative research and project implementation activities in community electrification, renewable energy, and micro-hydro. Additionally, it concentrated on faculty development and technical training programs in sustainable energy systems, as well as student internships and industry exposure opportunities. Common talks focused mostly on information exchange through technical workshops, field trips, and seminars. By combining classroom instruction with practical experience, these programs hope to equip students to become knowledgeable, accountable professionals who will support Nepal's energy sustainability.
The MoU is expected to open new pathways for academic-industry synergy, hands-on learning, and social impact projects. Khwopa College of Engineering remains committed to forging meaningful partnerships that bridge classroom learning with real-world challenges, especially in sectors vital to national development like energy access and rural electrification.
